Divergence is a powerful indicator that traders use to spot discrepancies between price movements and technical indicators. Essentially, it highlights moments when the price action isn’t in sync with what your indicators are showing—this often happens when the indicators are in the overbought or oversold zones (20;80).
This handy tool was first rolled out in MQL4 and made its debut on mql4.com back on October 11, 2007.
