One of the key resources I used is an article titled Displaying a News Calendar by Slobodov Gleb. It explains how to pull data from external sources and display it on your chart using a simple indicator.
Additionally, I referenced the SimpleMarketInfo indicator created by born2trade. It alerts you to upcoming news events one hour prior and 30 minutes after they happen, along with showing active trading sessions and other relevant updates.
Also, I discovered the Clockzv1_2 auto.mq4 indicator by Jerome, which helped me incorporate upcoming Daylight Saving Time (DST) adjustments for local markets. Understanding local time is crucial for knowing when markets are open!
