Hey fellow traders! I'm excited to share some news about the latest version of the iMAX indicator. The original iMAX3 has officially been succeeded by the iMAX3ea, which is currently in the publishing phase. So, keep an eye out for that! In the meantime, rest assured that the existing iMAX3 is running smoothly—no technical issues reported so far. I have high hopes that the new version will be just as reliable, if not more so. However, I strongly recommend that you upgrade to iMAX3ea once it’s available, as that’s the version I'll be supporting moving forward.
Now, there’s a little catch: the iMAX3ea will be available only as a .exe file, while the current iMAX3 can be accessed in .mq4 format if you're interested in diving into the code. Just a heads-up, though—I won’t be providing support for the older version anymore, so if you have questions, please direct them to the iMAX3ea thread once it’s live. I truly appreciate everyone who took the time to explore this indicator.
The iMAX3 is a versatile “hybrid” indicator, blending insights from my previous works, including the original iMAX, iMAXhp, and iMAXhpx indicators. These tools utilize a unique approach by phase-shifting a “Modified Optimum Elliptic Filter” signal to detect quick price trends. The calculations are based on a three-bar rate of change, making it adaptable to various market conditions without the need for constant retuning.
So, what’s special about the iMAX3? Here’s a breakdown:
- Fast Trend Detection: The iMAX3 provides rapid trend information across all timeframes and currencies, resilient to price spikes and effective in all market conditions.
- Three Modes: The indicator integrates three modes—iMAX, iMAXhp, and iMAXhpx—allowing traders to customize their approach based on market volatility.
- User-Friendly: iMAX3 is easy to implement and requires no complex adjustments to get started. Just drop it onto your chart, and you'll see results!
Here’s an overview of the three modes:
- iMAX: The original mode offering stability and flexibility.
- iMAXhp: This high-performance version improves responsiveness by switching from frequency shifting to amplitude phase shifting.
- iMAXhpx: An advanced mode that enhances speed in trend detection, allowing for lightning-fast analysis—perfect for EA testing!
One of the key advantages of iMAX3 is its ability to standardize the application of these indicators, allowing for both frequency and amplitude phase shifting. This means you can seamlessly switch between methods as market conditions change.
iMAX3 is designed with user customization in mind. It features six indicator buffers and allows you to select phase colors to match your charting style. While I won't be making custom modifications on request, I'm always open to suggestions for future enhancements.
Developers can also use iMAX3 as a foundation for creating their own MTF displays, dashboards, and other fast trend detection applications. In the near future, I plan to submit an alert and MTF display version with trend arrows to showcase its capabilities further.
Finally, I’d like to remind everyone that the original iMAX indicator was shared for the benefit of the trading community and is in the public domain. However, the newer versions—iMAXhp, iMAXhpx, and iMAX3—are copyrighted and should not be republished without permission.
Thanks for your time, and happy trading!
