As any seasoned trader knows, MT4 has its quirks. One of the biggest limitations is how it handles chart periods, especially when it comes to displaying timeframes longer than monthly. If you're like many of us who want to keep an eye on those longer-term trends—think half-yearly or yearly—then I’ve got some good news for you!
I've developed a handy indicator called the Period Converter that’s going to make your life a whole lot easier.

Period Converter Indicator
How to Use the Period Converter
- First off, attach the indicator only to the monthly chart (MN1).
- The multipliers you can use are 2, 3, 4, 6, and 12. Just a heads up—if you set the multiplier to 12, make sure to open the M12 chart to view those yearly candlesticks.
Now, a word of caution: if you're using other converters that handle irregular minute intervals, keep your wits about you! 😉
Trade smart and make the most of those long-term charts!
