Indicator: New Bar Alerts

  • Please read all relevant information.
  • Unfortunately, the author can't respond to individual inquiries. But don't worry! There's plenty of help and advice available online - check out MetaQuotes, forums, search engines, and video sites.

Alert Options:

  1. Popup Alert
  2. Sound Alert
  3. Email Alert
  4. Push Notification
  • If both Popup and Sound Alerts are enabled, only the Popup Alert will trigger. For the Sound Alert to work, set the Popup Alert to false. This is how MT4 operates.
  • Any alert set to true will trigger when the chart period (timeframe) changes, as well as when MT4 is loaded with alerts enabled. Unfortunately, I haven't found a solution for these quirks yet (check out posts #943,#944 for more info).
  • All alerts will state the Broker Time and Date.
  • New Bar Alerts are compatible with most Renko and Constant Range (Synthetic) candles.

Sound Alerts:

  • The default sound alert for the Indicator is "alert.wav", which corresponds to option 1 of the Sound_Bite parameter. This is a standard MT4 sound file, and it can't be changed without recoding.
  • The Sound_Bite parameter has additional sound options (2 to 8), but you'll need to add the corresponding sound files to the MT4/Sounds folder. This is optional.
  • You can find an example sound bite in SB2.zip (see Download). Place the unzipped SB2.wav in the MT4/Sounds folder to use it as option 2 of the Sound_Bite parameter.
  • For more sound bites, check out HERE. Try searching for terms like "chimes" or "bells".
  • Remember, additional sound files must be in .wav format and named SB2.wav, SB3.wav, etc., placed in the MT4/Sounds folder. They will correspond to options 2 to 8. If you don't need a sound option, you don't need a file.
  • If you have sound files in other formats, convert them to .wav using an audio converter and name them according to the instructions above.
  • Besides alert sounds, you can change event sounds by navigating to Tools → Options → Event.

Push Notifications: (iOS and Android)

  1. Push Notifications are quick, reliable, and easy to set up.
  2. The speed of notifications depends on your internet connection and the capabilities of your computer and mobile devices.
  3. First, install MT4 on your mobile device.
  4. Locate your MetaQuotes ID in the Messages section or settings.
  5. Enter your MetaQuotes ID in the MT4 client terminal on your computer (Tools → Options → Notifications).
  6. Note: You can use the same MetaQuotes ID across multiple client terminals (different brokers).
  7. Click the Test button.
  8. Open the MT4 Terminal (Ctrl + T), select the Journal Tab, and check under Messages to see if the test was successful.
  9. Once you successfully test the notifications, you can set Push Notification Alerts in the New Bar Alert Indicator.
  10. Important: Ensure that your mobile device's sound is turned on for notifications.
  11. If you need more help, just Google or YouTube
